Palliative psychiatry is an emerging way of offering support to people who have been using mental health services for a long time and current treatments haven’t worked well.
Job Posting: Post-Doctoral Researcher CAMH Bioethics and Education
The Everyday Ethics Lab, part of CAMH Education Research, is currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Researcher to support projects in bioethics led by the Lab (https://www.everydayethicslab.ca). Reporting to the CAMH Education Research Manager and the Lab’s Scientist, and working closely with a multi-disciplinary team, the Post-Doctoral Researcher will contribute to projects exploring ethical issues in mental health, substance use health, and chronic pain. Key responsibilities include supporting all aspects of research, such as literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and assisting in the preparation and execution of research reports, grants, academic manuscripts, and knowledge translation activities. The Post-Doctoral Researcher will also support the mentorship of staff and research trainees, as appropriate.
The ideal candidate for this full-time 1-year engagement will be an individual who possesses clearly defined research interests and scientific objectives in alignment with the Everyday Ethics Lab’s mission and a record of relevant scholarly activity and achievements (e.g. graduate training awards, publications, presentations, community engagement). The successful applicant will also demonstrate capacity for independence, originality, and contributions to team research.
